Is it the stride in our step, spike in our hair, fluidity behind our eyes, or the size of our hands -however big or small-that makes a butch butch after all?

Fri, September 2, 2005 - 1:43 AMIt's hard to pin point but the stride seems closer than spikey hair. I've seen butch with long hair. It's a feeling. I love it. I love butch women.
i'm more of a boy but still.
on the subject of the size of our hands- I am very insecure with my size. I wish i was bigger so I could be more butch.
On a side note, femmes are more "butch" or "strong" if thats what butch means since they withstand being objectified. I don't have the guts to live as a woman. Butch is less about "strength" or power but more about an aura. Most butch i've been with are "femme in bed. that is they need to be controlled. maybe that doesn't make them femme, just butch. I don't like all this labeling antics. -

Fri, September 9, 2005 - 12:25 AMI think about that "big" privelege. I'm big, and I got something in my stride -- get seen as butch and amn't bridling at it currently. And 'cause I'm big - tall, fat, strong, big hands, voice, big - It seems easier for other people to perceive me as butch. I think if I were smaller maybe I would just get read as more of a dyke. Femme women in particular ascribe "butch to me -- and there's a lot of flirting around my big hands -- definitely. Hmmm.
I also dunno about "butch meaning strong, or "femme meaning anything in particular. I like to be controled in bed, but that sure doesn't make me femme -- and I'm not sure what it has to do with being butch either...the whole idea of "butch in the streets femme in the sheets" kinda pisses me off. Femmes are often fierce - and I've known plenty who would kick my ass for trying to control theirs in bed.
